Screen and Recoat

B & W Flooring offers two different options when screening and recoating your floor, and they serve different purposes.

1.) This option is preferred when the gym floor has been refinished recently, contains fresh scuff marks, is slippery, or just a new shine is desired. We abrade the floor with 200-240 grit screens depending on quality of floor. This process removes the scuffs, and takes off any other marks that have appeared. After cleaning, we then put two coats of finish over the freshly screened floor. This takes away the slip factor and increases traction, while also giving the floor a clean glossy shine.

2.) This option is preferred when the floor hasn’t be refinished recently, contains deep or harsh scuffs, is slippery, and has lost its shine. We follow the same process as the first option, just with a deeper abrasion as the goal. We abrade the floor with 150-180 grit screens, and remove all the marks that can be removed (scuffs that have been coated over are almost impossible to get out, but we will try!) After cleaning, we then apply two-three coats of finish depending on preference. This process adds traction back to the floor, and also give the clean glossy shine.
